Halloween Pit Fire and Preparation Class – Oct 30 & 31

Time: 9am – to 2 or 3pm
Instructor: Jillian O’Dwyer
Where: Huntington State Beach @ the Magnolia St Parking Entrance. Look for lifeguard tower #6 near the bathrooms. Note: The Park charges $15.00 per car for parking (you may want to carpool).
Cost: $25.00 Including: Instruction, firing permit, oxides, copper scrubbies, other combustible materials and newspaper. ********Students start saving up fire wood***********

This Event Includes:
Pit Fire Preparation Class
Stop by during one of Jillian’s classes and learn how to prepare your work with the combustible materials
When: October 30, 2014,
Time: 10am – 11am, 2pm – 3pm or 6pm- 7pm.
Limit: 20 Participants    *** Sign up Now***** – Email hkreitchet@amoca.org
Artwork: 5 pieces. Size limitations are 5x5x5” no larger than 10x10x10” if bringing objects smaller than 5x5x5” please bring a reasonable amount so everyone can get their work into the pit.
Clay Recommendations: Burnished smooth white clay turns out best for the brightest color, although red clays work well too with a different result.  Speak with Jillian for more clay recommendations.
Bring: Scrap Wood, Plenty of water, Sunscreen, Hat, Beach Shoes, Clothes to cover up from the sun, Bathing Suit, Beach Chair or Blanket, Towel, Beach Umbrella or Pop-up Tent for Shade. Note: The water is a good walk from the pit fire area across the sand.
Food: For all the foodies we will have a pot luck lunch with a sign-up sheet in the kitchen the week before the event! We need more than just candy!
