Missing Art Painting

The other day while I was doing a drive by in downtown (not that kind). I notice a painting was missing, I was thinking this this doesn't become a habit, in taking paintings.

So then today on another drive by (again not that kind) another painting was missing. Hmm I'm thinking the artiest is allowed to take his or hers home. I hope so, I myself would like to see them around for maybe a little bit longer if possible.
OK this is Ren, hold on, OK just had to check my name tag on my shirt to make sure. Like always, you take care, and you take care of those ones you love, thank you, thank you very much.
Who's Tom Craft?.

LOOK!

Look up in the sky!, is it bird?, is it a Plane?.
No it's the American flag flying proudly over the skies of Pomona.
Well it would be nice, but once again with a little help with Photo Shop.
Looks nice up there, been years since they had one on the pole.

Do you see it

What a mess over here on W. Second St. and Oak Ave. at the recycling place. But that's not what I'm talking about.

Do you see it now?

How about now, yeah these homeless have a hot wire into the light pole, so they can use their power tools and so on. This is the kind of crap we have to put up with here on the westside.

Mean while back at the church

Looks great, hmm but I was wondering if their going to paint the strap brown?.

Downtown Pomona

Looking east on E. Second St. from Locust St. looks like early 1960's

Moving along at the church on Third and Gordon.

Wood molding is replaced.

And here their pulling out one of the chess Pieces that's what we call them.

Moving the chess piece in place, a closer look, you also can see how it was put together

Scrappy Toys Update "Pomona Trolley"

I just hung the overhead wire today and installed the post to hold the power wire. It also rolls on the track, maybe I should put a motor on it, so it will roll on it's own.

Not sure if you can see the wire, but I need to work on the pole on top, that rides on the power line.

Here is another look at it, OK like always I'll get back with you on further updates.

Scrappy Toys, Pomona Trolley

Just started working on this today, I'll keep you updated.

Some Old Bank History

A friend in the neighborhood stopped me this morning and wanted to show me something.
He was cleaning out some stuff and came across this old First National Bank Bag, maybe used for coins back then. I'm thinking this goes back to the 1940's, just sayin.
It was filled with marbles, I asked him if he looked at the marbles. He said he hadn't, hmm maybe he has a little gold mine in old marbles.

Now this one blew me away, I forgot about these coin banks from the Pomona First Federal was located here on Garey Ave. You would get these from the bank, take them home and deposit your coins in the little bank. When full, you then take it to the bank where they have a key to open the back. Then your money would be deposited to you account. Great for kids for learning about how to save their money. I'm thinking this goes back to the early 1960's correct me if I'm wrong.
I had something from another bank, a thick light brown envelope, with a red string you would wrap around it, to secure it. The good old days.

Update: "The New Church of Pomona"

Located on the southwest corner of W. Third St. and Gordon St.

Moving along with the painting.

The damaged wood trim will be replaced, as you can see they removed the old trim.

Well I seen the moon there, time for a Kodak moment.

I still think it looks like Mickey Mouse.
