No! I don't think so

A few years ago, I caught this guy painting the Male Mermaid at our fountain on W. Second St. It was painted back to white, you just don't mess with other peoples art.

Did you miss the December exhibition? It's online now!

“On the Paper” is a group exhibition conceived by eight artists who work in a variety of art forms and come from multiple cultural backgrounds. The encounter of different perspectives and thoughts that are brought together by the mutual element, “paper,” provides an opportunity for audiences to hear, to learn, and to embrace.

From the handmade to the industrial mass-production, the paper, as an essential material involved in human civilization and contributed to the continuity and the creativity of cultures, is integrated in the artworks by the artists who have deeply investigated this material. We expect our audiences to see the humanity revealed in art, and to hear a wide range of voices through the daily and common object, paper.

Pomona Heritage In a Minute

January 2021
Looking Back at 2020

Hello! It has been a long time since you have heard from us here at Pomona Heritage. Last spring when everything changed we put all 2020 events on hold so our board members and volunteers could focus on their loved ones. We started meeting again in late summer and now are looking ahead to a more active 2021.
In 2020 we did notice many neighbors used their extra time at home to complete projects. We were able to offer our Old Home Restoration Grant program this year. Our grant coordinator Teresa Spezio is still going over applications and we will present awards soon.

We also used membership dues to make our annual toy donation, this year to the Pomona Police Department toy drive. Dan and Joan McIntire lead the charge on this and we are grateful.

Looking ahead to 2021

We are planning to do more as an organization including holding our usual events online. Work is being done for both an online Home Tour and Old Home Restoration workshop. If you are interested in helping with either we are looking for committee members for these events.

In February we will be having our Board of Directors election, this year electronically. As usual the voting will be for members only, so now is a great time to renew your membership to ensure your voting eligibility. Later in February will be our Annual Meeting. This will be a Zoom event where all are welcome to attend. Keep your eyes on your email for more information for both these events. We are working hard to get 2021 off on the right foot, if you are interested in being a part of this please reach out to us, we would love to hear from you.

A Few Ways You Can Be Involved:

  1. Volunteer! We are always looking for neighbors excited about old home preservation who would like to share their homes or skills with the community. If you are interested please email Megan Gearhart at president@pomonaheritage.org
  2. Renew your membership with Pomona Heritage. With no major fundraiser this past year we drew down reserves to fund programs and cover operating costs. Directions and rates are at the bottom of the newsletter.

Thank you all for staying with us through such an unusual year. We hope we get to see you, our neighbors, face to face soon!

All the best,

Megan Gearhart, Board President

 Schedule:

Feb. 19: 11am - 8pm; Feb. 20 - 28: 9am - 8pm

Description:

The new JQ Drive-Thru version of the show features over 70 life-like dinosaurs including the very popular T. rex, Spinosaurus and Triceratops. Jurassic Quest's herd of animatronic dinos are displayed in realistic scenes that allow guests to experience them roaring and moving from their own vehicles as they drive their way through the tour. Baby dinosaurs greet guests and bring big smiles to explorers of all ages. During the Drive-Thru experience, guests are guided by an engaging and informative digital audio tour featuring show entertainers and dino wranglers that lasts about an hour. Guests stay in their cars throughout the tour with limited contact, if any, with staff who wear masks, social distance, and follow all state and local guidelines regarding health and safety. To further ensure the safety of patrons and staff, all equipment and workstations undergo regular sanitization throughout the show. All attendees receive a free, safari-style family photo in their vehicles set against a dinosaur backdrop as a memento of their experience.

Whether they are big or small, our guests have a ball.
