Claremont Police Collects Hundreds of Pounds in Drugs from Community
The Drug Take Back days provide a safe and convenient way to dispose of prescription drugs, Claremont officials wrote in the announcement. They also aim to educate the public about the potential for abuse of these medications, according to officials.“With the community's help, this medication was safely disposed of and not misused or disposed of in ways that could impact our water supply and our environment,” officials wrote. “The Claremont Police Department is committed to protecting our planet by offering a safe way of disposing medication.”
Anyone interested in disposing of outdated medications who were unable to attend the event may still deposit them in a box inside the Claremont Police Department lobby, officials said. The box is available during normal lobby hours from 8 a.m to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
