Video: Surveillance Footage of Suspect Vehicle in Arcadia Fatal Hit-And-Run
The Arcadia Police Department is reaching out to the public for help in identifying the suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision that killed a motorcyclist last week.
Los Angeles resident Kenneth Doherty, 32, was killed when a car hit his motorcycle along Foothill Boulevard in Arcadia on May 7. The car, believed to be a blue 2002 to 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (or "Evo"), fled the scene, according to police. See a photo of a similar car here.
Police said in a news release Tuesday that Doherty and the suspect vehicle were seen speeding and driving erratically on the 210 Freeway before the collision.
"According to witness accounts, the suspect and victim appeared to be yelling at each other, possibly engaged in an argument or road rage incident," the release states.
Surveillance footage from a local gas station the suspect vehicle "continuing eastbound on Foothill Boulevard from Santa Anita Avenue shortly after the collision," the release states.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Arcadia Police at 626-574-5150.
"While investigators have reached out to local dealerships and online Mitsubishi communities, we believe that someone in the community may have additional information on the suspect and suspect vehicle," the release states. "The Arcadia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect driver and in locating the suspect vehicle in this tragic, fatal collision."
