Ren's Wayback, Sunkist Theatre 1931

The Sunkist Theatre opened on  November 4th 1931 with a given seating capacity of 888.

This was in the LA Times dated 3/10/57:
Transformation of the old Sunkist Theater into an arcade of small specialty shops and professional offices is now under way. Known as the Garey Arcade, the new building will be finished in terrazo and white marble with plantings of palms and Hawaiian ferns in front of the concrete and brick building.

Ren's Note: You know I think they tore it down and put this in it's place. The reason I say that, is it
sure doesn't look like it did at one time. But then again, people who come in and buy the
it, just end up gutting the inside. Like what happened to a few on 2nd St. I was talking
to someone from the historic society about one building. In which the front was
demolished, I said what happened to the historic building. And they said, Oh it's still
there. Can't you see the sidewalls, there still there. Your suppose to save the whole
thing, some people just don't get it. And they call themselves Historians.
