I can remember when my folk's told us kid's about tonight that they will turn on the mall lights for the first time. So my older brother and sisters ( I was the youngest ) walked from our house on Monterey St. then south on Eleanor St. then crossed the railroad tracks ( back then you could do that ) then over to Second St. And walked over to Linden St., and on our way we past the Old Pomona Creamery. Then once we got to Linden St. it was something that we all never seen or heard before, they had music playing also. It was great to see it at night, just wish I could of found a color picture by the way this picture of the mall was taken from Main St. looking east. I wonder if they could restore one of the tree planters as it looked liked back in the day, it is part of Pomona's history.
