ANNOUNCING! Opportunity to design/create promotional poster for this
year's POMONA BEAUTIFICATION DAY.
Each year Pomona Beautification Day mobilizes several thousand
community members to partner with local organizations to beautify the
city. This year, planning has started for the MAY 11, 2013 event.
I am serving on the planning committee, and suggested that we have a
local artist design the poster/ image for all promotional items. This
is a volunteer opportunity, however, the artist would have his/her
name on thousands of posters, banners, and fliers around the city, as
well as will receive recognition the day of the event.
If you are interested in submitting something for review, the deadline
is FEBRUARY 20. The committee will review submissions at that time,
and proceed with one artist. The art should somehow correspond with
the idea of Beautification of Pomona, Volunteerism, Civic Engagement,
etc.
Wording on the poster, as well as a specific theme is not confirmed.
When creating your design, consider that there will be text added.
Primary format will be 11x17, however, art will be edited for smaller
4x6 prints, and 8.5x11 formats. Additionally, larger banners will be
designed with the work.
PLEASE FORWARD TO LOCAL ARTISTS WHO MAY BE INTERESTED IN SERVING THEIR
COMMUNITY WITH THEIR CRAFT! Any Medium will be accepted and
considered.
