Library Friends' Wine Tasting Slated for Sunday

By this weekend will you be ready for an event that doesn't involve heart shaped candies and red, red roses? How about The Friends of the Library annual wine tasting, where you get to drink wine and help support the library.
The annual Sierra Madre Library Wine Tasting will feature wines from all over the world, including, of course some from California and Oregon. Layer Cake, Beringer, Mondavi, Clos du Bois, and Wild Horse, to name a few, will be offering tastes of some of their finest wines.
As well, more than a dozen restaurants will offer tastings to go with the wine. Look for Sierra Madre's own The Only Place, Beantown, Lucky Baldwin’s, Corfu, Village Pizzeria, T. Boyles and Sierra Brigante as well as a few others.
Entertainment will be provided by three musical groups and a silent auction will also help raise funds for the organization.
Friends of the Library is made up of more than 400 community members who volunteer hours and materials and raise money to strengthen the city's library programs and services.
The event runs from 2 to 5 p.m. at Alverno Villa, 200 N. Michillinda Ave., Sierra Madre.
Tickets, which are $60 per person, are available in advance at the Sierra Madre Library, The Bottle Shop, Savor the Flavor and Arnold’s Frontier Hardware and Gifts.
