Back in the 1960's

This picture takes me back, OK between Buffums and the Buffums sign you will see a white building. That use to be the Goodwill building back then but that got torn down along with Pomona's Creamery Building because of Redneck U, I mean Western U. And if you look real close between the two palm trees, you will see a smokestack. Well that belonged to Blue Seal Laundry and they had this steam whistle that blew everyday (but weekends) on the lunch hour you could set your watch to this and it was loud, you could hear it for miles. One day I went there to go see that steam whistle and take a picture of it. They told me the whistle isn't there anymore, lol I see it and it's still there, as a kid I use to live a half a block from it. And I use to watch it blow, yea it's still there I don't think they knew what I was talking about. Just like I went to the city yard on Monterey St., and I had asked them if they still have anymore of the old black and white street signs. They looked at me as if I was from another planet, so they most likely trashed them what a shame.
