The event raises funds and celebrates the "Achievement, Perseverance, Excellence and Responsibility," of the students attending the school. This year's event will be a swing jazz era themed night, featuring the Empire Swing Orchestra and 18 piece swing band. Guests can relax, enjoy cocktails and appetizers while bidding on silent auction items. They will be served a sit down dinner while being entertained by swing dancers and the sounds of the jazz era. Guests can win various auction prizes such as trips, Carden opportunities, children's classes and personal services. Jim Nye, "The Auction Guy," will host the auction. Bid Helpers will provide support for the silent and live auctions. Donations for the silent or live auction are also being accepted. This is the school's primary fundraising event where the school seeks sponsorships. Available sponsorships are named after famous jazz musicians and bands including Frank Sinatra for $10,000, Duke Ellington for $5,000, Benny Goodman for $2,500, Glen Miller for $1,000, Tommy Dorsey for $500 and Carden Swing Sponsor a Teacher at the School for $100. Admission is $100 per person or $200 per couple. The event is scheduled from 6 to 11 p.m. Dress is black tie optional.
Guests must be at least 21 years old. For more information contact Terri DiMarco, director of development at Carden at tdimarco@cardenarborview.org or 909-982-9919.
