That's right folk's this little building was once Curley's Key Shop on E. Center St. As a kid on my way to the Pomona Wine Cellar I would walk right by the shop there to your left, but now it's all fenced in. But Curley a rather large man, use to sit out back with his buddies and pass a little whisky bottle around. About a week ago I had to get a key made at the Curley's now on Monterey and Palomares St. Then a women walked out from the back and we got to talking about Curly, turned out she was the granddaughter of Curley's. We got to talking about the old days around the hood, we both could of gone on and on but she had things to do and so did I. It was great to talk to someone about where I grew up and to remember Mr. Curley of Curley's Key Shop. By the way I told her that there use to be a house where the new shop is today, and when they widen Palomares St. well the was torn down also. OK a little history from Ren here, history that you won't find in any book. Take care and take care of those ones you love thank you, thank you very much.
