Vehicle Fire Halts 210 Freeway, No Injures Reported


A tractor trailer burst into flames Friday afternoon, causing moderate delays on the Interstate 210 freeway.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.

Authorities received the call around 4:44 p.m. of a vehicle fire near the shoulder on the westbound 210 freeway on ramp at Sunflower Avenue. Multiple callers then reported the trailer fully engulfed with flames, said Tatiana Sauquillo of the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities blocked the No. 2 and 3 lanes while fire fighters doused the flames, authorities said.

The big rig may have experienced mechanical problems prior to the fire.
