Man Killed in Recent I-10 Crash is Identified

A man killed on Interstate 10 near White Avenue in Pomona on May 3 was a Yorba Linda resident and may have been making an unsafe lane change, according to California Highway Patrol officials.
The crash was reported at 12:06 a.m. CHP officials said the driver - identified by San Bernardino Sheriff’s Coroner’s as 27-year-old James Oliver Bolla – was in a 2004 Toyota Tacoma pick-up headed east on the I-10. He was west of White Avenue traveling about 70 miles per hour when he changed lanes, officers said.
But the Tacoma got in the path of a tractor-trailer, officials said. The two collided and Bolla lost control of his vehicle that veered right and fell down an embankment where it overturned, officials said.
The pick-up came to rest on its wheels in two lanes of the White Avenue offramp below, according to the CHP. The driver of the big rig was not injured.
Los Angeles County Fire took Bolla by helicopter to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he died in the emergency room at 2:29 p.m. The driver of the big rig was not injured. The collision remains is under investigation.
