Claremont Police to Staff DUI Checkpoint
In addition to checking for impaired motorists, police will determine whether drivers are wearing seat belts and have up-to-date licenses.
Officers from Claremont will staff a checkpoint to ferret out DUI drivers Monday evening.
The checkpoint will be staffed from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesday at an undisclosed location, officials said.
In addition to checking for impaired motorists, police will determine whether drivers are wearing seat belts and have up-to-date licenses.
Funding for the program was provided by the state Office of Traffic Safety, through a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
