Pomona Man Who Crashed into Fire Engine Arrested for Alleged DUI
The fire truck was on the way to a call and had its siren and lights on when it was struck.
A Pomona man was arrested for alleged drunken driving Wednesday after the car he was driving collided with a county fire engine rushing to an emergency.
The collision occurred at 10:50 a.m. at White Avenue and Orange Grove Avenue, said Sgt. Christian Hsu of the Pomona Police Department.
The fire truck was going north on White with siren and lights, while the Altima driven by William Sandoval was westbound on Orange Grove approaching White Avenue.
Sandoval allegedly did not yield in the intersection. According to Hsu, the collision caused moderate damage to the fire truck and major damage to the Altima.
