Interested in Nurse Assisting? Citrus College Hosting Info Meeting This Month



The following was submitted for publication by Citrus College:
Students will learn the basic practices of safe and proper nursing care delivery to patients who are elderly, ill or infirmed.
 
Citrus College will offer a second, eight-week Nursing Assistant Program beginning Tuesday, October 22, 2013.
Prospective students who are interested in applying for the Nursing Assistant Program must attend a mandatory information meeting at Citrus College on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Louis E. Zellers Center for Innovation, Room 159.

Nursing Assistant Program classes will meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The program prepares students to sit for the state competency examination, which is required for licensure as well as employment as an entry-level caregiver in a long-term care facility.  Students will learn the basic practices of safe and proper nursing care delivery to patients who are elderly, ill or infirmed. 
Persons who are interested in enrolling in the Nursing Assistant Program must first apply for admission to Citrus College. They are encouraged to apply to the college before the September 19 information meeting in order to receive a registration appointment date.  To apply, visitwww.citruscollege.edu and click the “Apply to Citrus” button located on the home page. 
Citrus College offers this convenient, cost-effective Nursing Assistant Program for $46 per unit, plus fees.  Students must also provide their own uniforms and supplies.  Financial aid is available for those who qualify.
The Louis E. Zellers Center for Innovation is located off Foothill Boulevard on the north side of the campus near Barranca Avenue.  Parking passes can be purchased from the Campus Safety Building located near the college’s Citrus Avenue entrance or from a parking lot kiosk for $5.
