LA County Fire to Host Seminars for Interested Job Candidates



The first in the seminars will be Jan. 11 at Western University in Pomona.

The following information is provided by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, which serves the communities of Diamond Bar and Walnut.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department will present a series of Firefighter Preparatory Seminars between January and May to help interested candidates prepare for the upcoming Fire Fighter Trainee examination scheduled for this summer. 
The preparatory seminars are a new concept and will be presented by expert members from the Department’s human resources and firefighter training teams.  Attendees will have an opportunity to attend and learn more about a prestigious firefighting career with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. 
Seminars are planned for each of the Department’s three operational regions across Los Angeles County, for a total of nine presentations.  The first presentation is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 11, at Western University in the City of Pomona. 
The seminar will cover a wide range of helpful information, including: 
  • Introduction to the Fire Service
  • Recruit and Probationary Firefighter Expectations
  • Written Test Preparation
  • Oral Interview Preparation
  • Introduction to the Background Check process
  • Health and Fitness
  • California Physical Agility Test (CPAT)
