Series of Foothill Blvd Closures at Railroad Bridges in Azusa Starts Friday
WHEN: Friday, March 7, 2014 to late-May 2014
Over the next few months, crews will be installing steel beams to complete the three rail bridge structures (one for freight and two for light rail) over Foothill Blvd in Azusa. This work will require two consecutive full weekend closures and long-term, off-peak one-way closures of Foothill Blvd, between Vernon Ave and Orange Ave.
Full Weekend Closures
On Friday, March 7 at 9 PM, Foothill Blvd will be closed to thru-traffic in both directions between Vernon Ave and Orange Ave until Monday, March 10 at 5 AM.
The following weekend, beginning Friday, March 14 at 9 PM through Monday, March 10 at 5 AM, Foothill Blvd will again be closed to thru-traffic in both directions between Vernon Ave and Orange Ave.
One-Way Closures
Beginning Monday, March 17, eastbound Foothill Blvd, between Vernon Ave and Orange Ave, will be closed to thru-traffic daily for six weeks between the hours of 4 AM and 2 PM only.
Once the eastbound work is completed, beginning approximately on Monday, April 28, westbound Foothill Blvd, between Vernon Ave and Orange Ave, will be closed to thru-traffic daily for six more weeks between the hours of 9 AM and 10 PM only.
Detours and signage will be in place to guide motorists around the construction activity. The sidewalk will remain closed to pedestrians during the full weekend closure, but pedestrian access will be available on one side of Foothill Blvd during the one-way closures.
Local businesses, and access to them, on Foothill Blvd will remain open during the closures. We encourage you to take the time to help these businesses during these closures.
