           NATIONAL LOOK ALIKE DAY

At one point in time, most all of us have heard one of the following sayings:
  • Hey, I saw someone at the concert that looked just like you, I think you have a twin out there.
  • You remind me of someone.
  • You look just like (insert name).
Maybe you often have people tell you that you and your cousin look like you could be twins?  There are impersonators and some people even say that there are those that look like their pets.
All of the above have, in an unknown way, prepared you for the April 20th celebration of National Look Alike Day.
This day is  celebrated by people, across the nation, spending the day with their look alike, mailing them cards or sending them flowers or others are getting dressed up to look like another person, most typically a famous celebrity.
One of the most popular “look alike’s”  is Elvis Presley ”The King of Rock N Roll”.
Whoever you look like or whoever looks like you, Have a GREAT day!

NATIONAL LIMA BEAN RESPECT DAY

National Lima Bean Respect Day is celebrated on April 20.  Lima beans are a good source of protein, iron, magnesium, potassium and zinc.  Lima beans can increase energy levels by helping to restore more iron
This day is a day to have Lima beans with your dinner as they are an often forgotten about vegetable.  Most of us have grown up with the memory of not liking Lima beans as a child and do not give them a second chance as we become adults.  They are delicious in soups, stews, salads, casseroles, by themselves or mixed with other vegetables.

NATIONAL PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE DAY

Each year on April 20, it is National Pineapple Upside Down Cake Day.  This spring time cake has been enjoyed since the early 1900′s.
In 1925 a pineapple recipe contest was held.  More than 60,000 recipes were entered and of those, 2,500 were for Pineapple Upside Down Cake.  It is apparent that this cake was very popular then and still is today.
To make a Pineapple Upside Down Cake, the bottom of the pan is lined with pineapple rings.  A cherry is then placed in the center of each ring followed by a butter and sugar mixture.  Cake batter is then poured on top and it is baked.  The cake is turned upside down, onto a cake plate, before serving, revealing a delightful and delicious masterpiece.
