The annual Bicycle Safety Rodeo of the Pomona Police Department will be held Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Civic Center, 505 S. Garey Ave.
The purpose of a bicycle safety rodeo is to teach children the importance of seeing, being seen and remaining in control of their bicycle while riding it at all times. This will be achieved through a series of bicycle handling drills and the simulation of traffic situations for children ages 3-10
Pomona police officers will barbecue lunch for every child who participates. In addition, there will be a K9 demonstration and other displays. At the conclusion of the event, two new children’s bicycles will be given away.
