Prostitution operation nets 16 arrests

On 10/23/14, Officers from the Pomona Police Department's VICE Unit took a proactive approach in improving the quality of life issues by deterring prostitution and human trafficking in Pomona. The VICE Unit hosted a multi-agency prostitution operation with help from the FBI's Innocence Lost Task Force, the Department of Family and Children's Services, and the Los Angeles County Probation Department. The operation resulted in numerous arrests related to prostitution. Although this operation was geared toward arresting prostitutes soliciting for sex in the public, there were two male suspects arrested for seeking out prostitutes for sexual acts as well. The Pomona Police Department's VICE Unit actively targets certain areas of the city known to attract prostitution. Anyone wishing to report such activity is encouraged to do so by utilizing "We Tip" or "Crimestoppers."
