West Basin's 16th Annual Water Harvest Festival

West Basin Municipal Water District (West Basin) presents the 16th Annual Water Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free community event will take place at its world renowned Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility located at 1935 S. Hughes Way in El Segundo. The event offers free water recycling tours, games, food, costume contest, grand prize drawing and much more.

West Basin’s Water Harvest Festival provides the community the opportunity to take a tour of the only plant in the world that produces five different types of recycled water. Visitors can get a behind-the-scenes look of the recycling facility that has recycled more than 150 billion gallons of water and see first-hand how wastewater is purified into drinking water.

This year’s theme “Plant the Seed Now for our Water Future Tomorrow,” resides within California residents as they prepare to enter into the fourth year of the drought that affects more than 37 million people. This event will educate the community on day-to-day water conservation that will encourage them to become more efficient with their water use.

The more than 30 booths include Discovery Cube, a professional pumpkin carver, carnival games, pony rides, reptile petting zoo, face painting and raffle prizes. Raffle prize winners will be announced throughout the event with a grand prize of an energy-efficient washer and dryer.

Free parking will be available at 1960 E. Grand Ave (at Sepulveda Blvd) in El Segundo with free shuttle buses to and from the event.
