Pomona Rotary hosts 5th annual ‘Good for the Sole’ shoe drive
The Pomona Rotary Club hosted the 5th annual “Good for the Sole” shoe drive Saturday at Big 5 Sporting Goods on Holt Avenue. Discounted shoes were provided to more than 100 elementary school students from the Pomona Unified School District.
Podiatrists from Western University were on site examining the feet of students and teachers for any potential problems.
This year’s shoe drive was in honor of its founder and Pomona Rotary Club member Leslie Lewis, who died this year, said Tami Farley of the Pomona Rotary Club, who helped organize Saturday’s event.
