Bank Robbery Suspects Captured in Claremont Motel

Two suspects who escaped police in Covina after trying to cash a counterfeit check at a Wells Fargo bank branch were taken into custody Monday in Claremont.
Covina police were called to the bank in the 1000 block of West Badillo Street on Dec. 17. When officers moved in to arrest a man and a woman, they jumped into a stolen van and drove off at speeds of 100 mph, which enabled them to elude their pursuers.
The suspects were identified as Justin Allen, 29, and his 24-year-old girlfriend Ashleigh Bilesimo. Both were being held at the Covina police jail.
A task force took them into custody, police said.
Both were taken into custody today at a Claremont motel. During the arrest, a handgun was located, along with evidence of mail theft, identity theft and items used to manufacture counterfeit checks and forms of identification.
Allen was on probation as part of the AB109 early release prison realignment and was being held on a no-bail probation violation warrant.
Bilesimo had a felony warrant in San Bernardino County on burglary and narcotics-related charges. She’s being held in lieu of $125,000 bail.
Both suspects are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at Citrus Superior Court.

Anyone with information about the suspects was asked to call detectives at 626-384-5628. All tips can be made anonymously.
