On January 14, 2015, Eric Savengrith was driving his vehicle out of an industrial complex in the 4000 Block of Valley Blvd. As he drove onto Valley Blvd, his car was struck by another vehicle, driven by Javier Luviano. Luviano's vehicle was traveling eastbound on Valley Blvd. Savengrith passed way as a result of injuries he received from the collision.
Pomona Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team began an investigation into this collision. After a lengthy and complex review, investigators presented their case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. The District Attorney's Office filed a single felony count of vehicular manslaughter, 192(c)(1) PC, against Luviano.
Luviano was arrested today and is being held at the Pomona Police Department. His bail is set at $50,000.
