Harrison Ford’s small plane goes down in Venice

Harrison Ford was piloting a small plane that crashed today on a golf course near Santa Monica Airport, according to media reports.
The TMZ website reported — and NBC confirmed — that the “Star Wars” and “Indiana Jones” star, 72, was flying the plane.
The Los Angeles Fire Department didn’t identify the pilot but said he was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Ford’s head was bleeding from multiple gashes, TMZ reported. Two doctors already on the golf course were able to treat the actor.

The plane went down at the Penmar Golf Course in Venice. The course, near Rose Avenue and 23rd Street, is west of the Santa Monica Airport.
It’s unclear whether the pilot had just taken off or was trying to land at the airport, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott.
Ford is a veteran pilot who “had crashed multiple times in the past,” TMZ reported.
Just to clarify...Harrison Ford is in fair to moderate condition after plane crash. He was alert, conscious and talking while being treated
