Last call for for our first event of the year our popular "Dining out with Pomona Heritage". Wednesday, April 29, we are dining at Cachanilla Chinese Restaurant, the newly opened and renovated eatery at 305 E. Holt ( corner of Holt and Palomares). It has been getting great reviews for the Chinese-Mexicali fusion menu and upscale decor. A recent NPR story touted this style of fusion cuisine, and by all accounts the chef has pulled together an extensive menu at moderate prices.( $ 7.99 and up, family style dinners even less). "Thumbelina", a shadow puppet play, is being staged on Saturday, May 16 by the award winning Oregon Shadow Theatre. Shadow puppetry is considered the oldest form of puppetry going back thousands of years in China and India. This delightful play is appropriate for children of all ages (adults too!) Seating is very limited, please RSVP at (310) 995-7171. The venue is the "Great Room" of Patti Amelotte's home at 390 E. Kingsley at 8:00pm. Running time 60 min. ( Suggested donations $10.00 adults, $5.00 children, $20.00 families, discounts for PH members)
