ONTARIO: Teen program pairs tacos with literature
The Ovitt Family Community Library has set a Traditional Taco Making for Teens program in celebration of the Ontario Reads book, “Into the Beautiful North” on Wednesday, April 15. The program will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. in the library’s meeting room and is open to teens ages 13 to 18.
Attendees will get the opportunity to create their own tacos with fresh and healthy ingredients like rotisserie chicken and salsa. The program will also discuss Luis Alberto Urrea’s novel about a 19-year-old woman named Nayeli who works at a taco shop in her Mexican village and decides to journey to America to find a group of men to help save it.
There is no registration or reading required and the program is free.
The library is at 215 E. C St. in Ontario.
