2 Pomona officers injured after patrol car struck by suspected drunken driver
POMONA >> Two officers were injured when they were struck by a suspected drunken motorist while conducting a routine traffic stop in Pomona, a police sergeant said today.
The officers were rushed to an area hospital for treatment. Their conditions were not immediately known, said Sgt. William Tucker of the Pomona Police Department.
At 11:27 p.m. Saturday, the officers were conducting a traffic enforcement stop on a possible drunken driver on Mission Boulevard at Elm Street. Their marked patrol car was struck by a vehicle going east on Mission Boulevard, Tucker said.
The driver of that vehicle was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and booked into the Pomona City Jail.
The department’s Traffic Services Bureau asked anyone who saw the crash to call them at (909) 620-2085.
