Former Raiders player Anthony Wayne Smith convicted on 3 counts of murder

Former Raiders defensive end Anthony Wayne Smith was convicted Thursday of the murders of three people. A mistrial was declared by a Southern California jury on a fourth charge stemming from the 2008 shooting death of another man.

Anthony Wayne Smith, 48, is accused of killing four men over the span of nearly a decade, beginning in 1999. Prosecutors say three of the victims ere kidnapped and tortured.

Smith played for the Los Angeles and Oakland Raiders between 1991 and 1997.
