Six Flags Magic Mountain to stay open year-round

Thrill-seekers will soon have more days to ride some of their favorite Six Flags Magic Mountain roller coasters.

The self-proclaimed "thrill capital of the world" will be open all year long starting in 2018.

"Basically we're entering the entertainment destination market," said Bonnie Weber, the park's president.

Which means Six Flags is adding more than 100 days to its regular schedule. "We are open 260 days and this will bring us to 365 days," said Weber.

The change goes into effect on the first day of 2018.

Annual pass holders welcome the opportunity to get more bang for their buck.

Right now, admission for one day is $85. Weber said the new annual pass will be on sale next week, and on Aug. 31, there will be a special "flash sale" that will offer customers the chance to "buy a day" and "get a year."
