CRIME: 245(a) (1) PC- Assault with a Deadly Weapon
VICTIM: Charles Roshe, 71 years old, Pomona Resident.
SUSPECT: Pablo Jimenez, 18 year old, Pomona Resident.
UNIT: Patrol Division
NARRATIVE:
On 02/03/18 at approximately 8:30PM, Pomona Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 1611 W. Holt Ave, regarding a possible man with a gun who “pistol whipped” the victim with a handgun. The victim said he was confronted by the suspect, who brandished a handgun and physically assaulted him during the confrontation. The victim and suspect are unknown to each other. Officers immediately responded and observed a male subject in the area who matched the suspect’s description. As soon as the subject made eye contact with officers he began running and continued into a nearby grocery store.
Officers followed the subject into the store and detained him as he was attempting to hide in the restroom. Officers searched the surrounding area and located a handgun that was discarded by the suspect. The victim positively identified the suspect and the handgun found in the alleyway. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Pomona Jail for 245(a)(1) PC, Assault With a Deadly Weapon.
