This past week, the remaining portion along Mission Blvd. at SR-71 was slurry-sealed. A slurry seal is the application of a mixture of water, asphalt emulsion, aggregate (very small crushed rock), and additives to an existing asphalt pavement surface. Striping and punch list work will be performed next, with the project scheduled for completion in the next two weeks.
This street work is the last portion of the project awarded on March 5, 2018 by City Council to Hardy & Harper, Inc. to rehabilitate portions of Mission Boulevard for the City’s “Major Street Rehabilitation – 2015 Metro Call,” Project No. 428-2590-XXXXX-67918. Phase 1 of this project completed street improvements between Towne Ave. and the East City Limit, and between SR-71 and White Ave.
