“Generations: A Mother/Daughter Exhibit,” paintings by Angelina and Andrea Mosley. Angelina Mosley studied in Florence, Italy where she learned the techniques of the masters. She currently paints in acrylic, oil pastel, and watercolor, but specializes in oil painting. Although she paints landscape, still life, and an occasional mural, her passion is portraiture. Angelina currently teaches and prepares students for careers in art. Andrea Mosley studied at the atelier Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy for four years under the training of world-renowned artist, John Angel, who himself was a student of the great Pietro Annigoni. Andrea has been an instructor at Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art, Laguna College of Art and Design, as well as teaching students privately in her studio. She has expansive knowledge in the use of mediums such as graphite, charcoal, and oil paints. Andrea accepts portrait commissions, and was awarded the honor of painting Marvel comic book creator, Stan Lee. 6 to 9 p.m.
The Claremont Forum & the Prison Library Project: 586 W. First St., Claremont.
“Art With Conviction.” Artists Serving Humanity are a group of formerly and currently incarcerated artists who join together with the common desire to give back to society through sales of their art. Artists Serving Humanity represents over 125 artists from several states and over 25 prisons. Art created from acrylic and oil paints, pen, pencil, incredible paper sculptures, beadwork, and beautiful woodwork will be presented in November and December. 6 to 9 p.m.

“Primal Nature: Animalia by Women in Post-War Claremont,” curated by Susan M. Anderson, focuses on animals, both real and fantastic, as they appear in the work of pivotal figures such as Jean Goodwin Ames, Betty Davenport Ford, Barbara Beretich, and Susan Hertel. The exhibition, sponsored by Gould Asset Management LLC, will be on view through January 6, 2019. Art Walk reception on October 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. with live vintage music and refreshments.

The Day of the Dead celebration continues with art from Anna Alvarado and Sergio Aragon. Sergio, of Oaxaca Mexico, will be here with lovingly crafted alebrijes. As seen in the movie Coco, Alebrijes are hand-created wood carvings. They are brightly colored using fantasy and whimsy. Each piece is a unique creation. Anna brings her masterful use of multi-colored permanent makers and stain, she has developed her own vocabulary for expressing what it’s like to be a 21st century woman of Latin American descent. 6 to 9 p.m.

The Underground Artists is a group of six women: Martha Cowen, Carol Lima, May Mar, Karen Werner, Cindy Lopez and Elizabeth Carr. Three oil painters, a sculptor and an acrylic painter.
The show is called “Art from the Attic.” Studio C will also have a Holiday Boutique with extra artisans through the end of the year. Refreshments will be served. 6 to 9 p.m.
