The 16th Aztaln exhibition has had great traffic with programs and events since it opened on September 14 with the car show and the Community Input gathering for the Magu Mural with East Los Streetscapers David Botello and Wayne Healy.

Jimmy Velarde – Producer/Director/Editor
This film, in its Los Angeles premiere, captures the 50th anniversary of the grassroots magazine Con Safos: Reflections of Life in the Barrio. This East Los Angeles magazine served as a platform for expression to capture the experiences of the barrio, from the beginning of the Chicano Movement in 1968 and into the early 1970s. Many local and national writers, artists, poets, educators, and activists contributed to voice the injustices that plagued the barrios. It was a venue that provided the opportunity to publish works where none existed before.
