The artists featured in The dA’s Frequency Hopping : A Women’s Exhibition
reflect diversity in mediums, cultures, ages and abilities.
The title Frequency Hopping is a nod to honor screen star Hedy Lamarr who was one of the primary inventors of frequency hopping technology now seen in Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth® and code-division multiple access (CDMA). After reading about Frequency Hopping’s characteristics like multi-tasking radio waves, constant connectivity between transmitter and receiver, as well as the signals ability to enable a code for the purpose of protection; it was very confirming that Frequency Hopping was a very fitting title for a women’s exhibition.
