I received your complaint concerning UP locomotives idling in your Pomona neighborhood that you sent to the EPA tipline. First, I wanted to let you know my agency recently passed a new Locomotive Regulation that will allow us at the California state level to enforce a 30 minute locomotive idling limit. Unfortunately, this will not take effect until next year. In the meantime, what I can do is call my contact at UP and see why they are staging in the area near your home so often and if they can move to an area away from homes. I recommend trying their idling report form. They shouldn’t be able to block you from submitting it and you can upload photos/videos. I just submitted one for your complaint today.
