RANCHO CUCAMONGA--Volunteers for the Root 66 Garden and Vineyard Project will be working this Saturday to clear a portion of their 15 acres of land to prepare it for the planting of a cover crop and vineyard. Also planned is a holiday gift and bake sale to help with fund-raising. The Root 66 Garden site is located at 12151 Foothill Blvd., the empty field area west of the Sears Grand just to the west of Day Creek Blvd, according to organizers. The event starts at 8 a.m. Participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves and a wheelbarrow, if possible. Truck owners are encouraged to come as well.
