Baldwin Park Clerk Shot and Wounded in Attempted Robbery

 
A gunman who shot and wounded a clerk during an attempted robbery of a store in Baldwin Park was being sought today.
The clerk suffered a graze wound to the chest in the shooting, which happened at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the K & C Alta Dena Dairy at 14042 Ramona Blvd., Baldwin Park police Lt. Joe Bartolotti told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
After walking into the store and demanding money, the gunman, with a blue bandana covering his face, fired one shot into the air then fired another round that struck the clerk, Bartolotti told the newspaper.
The suspect then ran off, Bartolotti said, adding that the clerk was taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition.
The gunman was described as Hispanic, 35 to 40 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 200 pounds, wearing a gray shirt and black shorts, according to The Tribune.
