The youngsters who were taken into custody were in possession of marijuana, according to a news release issued by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy John Fiero.
Deputies from the Chino Hills Station, San Bernardino County Probation, school probation officers, Chino Police Department and the Chino Valley Unified School District conducted the operation, Fiero wrote.
The goal was to enforce daytime curfew laws and curb the amount of juvenile criminal activity, sheriff’s officials said. The agencies were also able to work with parents to educate them and their children on the importance of school attendance, provide them services and hold them accountable, according to officials.
The operation targeted the areas of Chino Hills, Chino and the unincorporated areas of San Bernardino County.
