A teenage girl struck by a vehicle in Pomona Thursday was airlifted to a trauma center, a fire dispatcher said.
The crash occurred anout 3:40 p.m. on Elwood Avenue, near Fairplex Drive, according to Pomona police Lt. Chuck Becker.
The extent of injuries was unknown but Pomona fire dispatcher Andre Gougis said airlifts are usually reserved for patients with significant injuries.
Becker told Patch that children are usually airlifted as well, as a precaution.
