Women's Time Trial, 29th Redlands Bike Classic at Big Bear
Alison Powers of Team NOW and Novartis for MS won the 29th Redlands Bicycle Classic Women's Time Trial at Big Bear Lake with the fastest time of the day, 16:09.91.
"It's a great course," Powers, 33, of Pinecliffe, Colorado, said of the time trial course on Big Bear's north shore after clinching the yellow jersey as overall race leader on the first day of the Classic. "It feels great to wear yellow, it's always an honor."
Taylor Wiles of Team Specialized Lululemon was second-fastest at 16:40.62, but she'll wear the fastest rider's green jersey on Friday because Powers can't wear two jerseys, Race Director Eric Reiser said.
Third on the podium for fastest women of the day was Rhae Shaw of Team Vanerkitten with a time of 16:54.02.
The Redlands Bicycle Classic is a four-day event.
