32ND SENATE DISTRICT: May 14 contenders cross $1 million threshold

The two candidates in the May 14 runoff special election in Inland Southern California’s 32 Senate District have broken the $1 million mark, and for a seat that wasn’t supposed to be competitive.

Newly filed campaign-finance reports show that Assemblywoman Norma Torres, D-Pomona, has spent $669,113. Ontario Mayor Paul Leon, a Republican, has spent $347,000. That doesn’t count some $472,000 in independent expenditures since Jan. 1 in the Pomona-to-San Bernardino seat.
Leon is a big underdog in a district where Democrats have a 25-percentage point registration advantage. But he continues to raise and spend money, and heads into the final weeks with $5,500 cash on hand.
Torres, meanwhile, is supposed to easily prevail in this month’s special election. She also continues to raise and spend tens of thousands of dollars, this week’s reports show.
Independent groups have spent at least $44,000 to help Torres in the weeks since her first-place finish in the March 12 special primary election.
Why so much spending? Torres’ supporters have to be somewhat concerned about the horrible turnout in the March 12 election.
And in the case of Leon, the spending in the SD-32 race could serve him well for future campaigns, such as for the 52nd Assembly District that Torres would vacate if she prevails May 14 in SD-32.
Whoever wins May 14 will serve out the term of former state Sen. Gloria Negrete McLeod, D-Chino.

First, Torres introduces AB665 which increases penalties on peeping toms...then, she supports AB1266 which ALLOWS BOYS INTO GIRLS BATHROOMS or vice versa! How do you think these peeping toms are created Norma! She is "lacking" in every sense of the word! Lacking in judgement, lacking in morality... We need a rational, common sense legislator... we need Paul Leon and we need him NOW! http://youtu.be/hqs3xsB-drU

Those are the priorities of the Democrats now that they have control of the Gov. office, the Assembly, and the Senate, and it is only going to get worse if Assembly Women Torres gets into the Senate.
Mayor Paul Leon, is the best choice in this race. The big? that this article draws a glaring light on is why are the Democrats putting so much $$ into getting Assemblywomen Norma Torres elected if she has such a huge advantage with registered Democrats. The answer is simple, the Democrats will lose their super Majority in the Senate. You see, the Democrats need Assemblywomen Norma Torres in order for her to rubber stamp the Democrats agenda. The Democrats have a huge list of new laws that will wipe out law abiding citizens to own guns, and purchase Ammo. Mayor Leon is pro 2nd Amendment, they won't get his vote. The Democrats need her to pas AB 5 the Homeless bill of rights. As Mayor of Ontario Leon knows all to well how badly this will harm our Cities. Then there is the Democrats brilliant plan to reduce our prison population, the end result of it is 10's of thousands of criminals are free to roam our streets doint as they please instead of being locked up for their crimes. Assemblywomen Torres will continue to vote on keeping the criminals in the streets, not in prisons where they belong. In Ontario under the leadership of Mayor Leon crime dropped 40%. That is why Mayor Paul Leon is the best choice for the State Senate.
