Monrovia Police tracked down and arrested the parolee who allegedly ran away from officers Wednesday and caused a lockdown at Clifton Middle School.
Police said the suspect, 29-year-old Tony Rodgers of Monrovia, ran from officers trying to serve him a no-bail warrant Wednesday afternoon. Clifton was briefly locked down after Rodgers ran through the Clifton campus.
Rodgers initially evaded police when they set up a containment around the school but he was later arrested in the 200 block of South California Avenue, Monrovia Police Lt. Nels Ortlund said in an email. Ortlund again tried to run from officers, according to Ortlund.
"He was booked for the no bail felony warrant (for receiving stolen property) and for resisting and delaying officers since he fled from officers twice today," Ortlund wrote.
Rodgers is being held without bail and is due in court for arraignment on Thursday, according to sheriff's booking records.
