Diamond Bar Students Display Their Best at Learning Expo

Pomona and Diamond Bar students will display some of their best work at the sixth annual Nancy McCracken Learning Expo scheduled for noon on May 5.
The Expo is a free event co-sponsored by the Pomona Youth & Family Master Plan, Pomona Fairplex, and the Pomona Unified School District.
It is open to the public and is set to feature a variety of fun activities for visitors, school district officials said.
“The purpose of the event is to pique student interest in science, mathematics, service learning, the arts and many other exciting educational topics,” school district officials wrote in the event announcement.
Visitors will get the chance to learn to piece together skeletons from owl pellets, view stars and constellations in a huge skydome planetarium, and even watching a cow eye dissection, organizers wrote.
Parents can learn about earthquake preparedness, how to get their children into college, and get a free health screening, organizers wrote.
“There will be age-appropriate activities for all ages, from preschoolers to adults,” organizers said.
The Expo is scheduled for from noon to 4 p.m. May 5 at Pomona Fairplex, Building 6. Parking and admission is free.
