Gold Line Construction: More Lane Closures on Colorado, Santa Anita Ahead
Motorists in Arcadia should expect more lane closures ahead as work winds down on Colorado Boulevard and a new project is set to begin on Santa Anita Avenue.
Construction on Colorado Boulevard on a new railroad bridge has been extended for three more weeks, requiring a full closure of Colorado.
Colorado Boulevard between San Antonio Road and Santa Anita Avenue will be closed until the third week of May, according to the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority. The activity is part of the 11.5-mile Gold Line extension from Pasadena to the Azusa/Glendora border.
Turn lanes from Colorado Place onto Colorado Boulevard will be closed and detour signs will be posted. Newcastle Park will remain open.
At the end of May, construction crews will begin a seven-month project on a new bridge over Santa Anita Avenue, requiring lane closures on Santa Anita Avenue.
Construction will take place over four phases. During the first phase, the right lanes on northbound and southbound Santa Anita will be closed between Newman Avenue and Santa Clara Street. La Porte Street will also be closed at Santa Anita Avenue, with access to the street available from First Avenue.
Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, although there may be some weekend or night work performed.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes when possible during all construction. All businesses in the area will remain open.
