Gas Prices Drop for 30th Day Straight

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell today for the 30th consecutive day, dropping three-tenths of a cent to $3.895, its lowest amount since Jan. 31.
The average price is 2.5 cents less than one week ago, 19.3 cents lower than one month ago and 30.1 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The Orange County average price decreased four-tenths of a cent today to $3.86, its lowest amount since Jan. 31.
The Orange County average price has dropped 20 of the past 21 days and is 2.4 cents less than one week ago, 20.1 cents lower than one month ago and 31.3 cents below what it was one year ago.
"Day-to-day wholesale gas prices are still at a point that should create continued prices decreases at the pump," said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
"For the first time since at least the year 2000, Southern California gas prices dropped more often in March and April than they rose, but the price for that was the big spike in February."
