Gas Spill Snarls Pomona Traffic, Shuts Garey Exit

A broken big rig's gas tank Friday forced the shutdown of an exit ramp on the 60 (Pomona) Freeway for hours, as crews worked to clean the spill, the CHP reported.
The accident occurred on the eastbound side, near Garey Avenue, about 9:15 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The exit ramp at Garey from the 60 was shut down shortly after 10 a.m. and was to remain shut for several hours, the CHP reported.
There was no word on injuries.
