Brush Fire Along 60 Freeway Scorches Two Acres


A brush fire that broke out along the Pomona (60) Freeway in the Hacienda Heights area this afternoon was quickly extinguished.
The blaze was reported on the eastbound 60 at Seventh Avenue at 4:02 p.m., said Inspector Scott Miller of the county fire department.
Miller said the fire was a third of an acre when first reported, and had grown to about two acres by the time it was extinguished 24 minutes later by 118 firefighters.
